What's in My Everyday Carry (EDC) Altoids Tin?

Let’s talk about my everyday carry tin. It’s not an Altoids tin—technically, it’s a Barkleys tin—but the size is nearly identical. Since I live in South Korea, I’ve tailored the contents to suit my environment and daily needs.

 

 

Here’s what’s inside:

 

Contents

1. Povidone-Iodine Solution
A small spray bottle (3ml) originally from Daiso. It works as a compact antiseptic. While the spray feature is convenient, it has its drawbacks.

 

2. Cord
I carry about 2 meters of Atwood Micro Cord, coiled neatly using a gasket coil knot. If you’re curious about how to tie one, just search for “gasket coil” on Google or YouTube.

 

3. USB Micro-A to USB-C Adapter
Because you never know when you’ll need to connect older tech to newer devices.

 

4. Duct Tape
A small roll of duct tape parceled out for portability.

 

5. Pain Relief Tablets
Two Tylenol extended-release tablets.

 

6. Artificial Tears
For dry or irritated eyes.

 

7. Clips, Band-Aids, and SIM Ejector Tool
Two small bandages and a SIM ejector needle, conveniently tucked into a clip.

 

8. Extra Clip
A single spare clip, which can double as a makeshift wire if unbent.

 

9. Pill Box
A tiny titanium pill box from AliExpress for holding smaller pills or essentials.

 

10. Magnet
A Lixada magnet half-piece, useful for retrieving or securing small metal items.

 

11. Zip Ties
Four 10cm cable ties—practical for quick fixes.

 

12. Glue Stick
A 7cm-long glue stick (standard 7mm size) for crafting or repairs.

 

13. Alcohol Swabs and Wipes
A couple of pre-packaged alcohol wipes and a small alcohol cleaner for hygiene or cleaning surfaces.

There’s still a little space left in the tin, which means I can add a few more essentials. Here are some ideas I’m considering:
